Is CAI Installed correctly?

i just recently intalled a CAI myself on a 98 lx i see different people having their filter facing downward and they take out a small part of the car at the bottom...some have theirs facin sideways and some are just sitting there... heres a picture of it...did i do it right or would it be better to have it facing downward?

thats a short ram if i've ever seen one, and its installed correctly.

umm sorry guys but techinically it is a CAI i just probably didnt install it right or didnt get all the pieces...because it came in different pieces i just didnt get enuf im guessin....i bought the filter...then i bought a adjustable pipe(i guess it aint metal) and i bought a 22degrees elbow....so yea i kinda made this one so to speak...its from spectre.....they all say CAI on it so i might not have installed it right..can u help?

a cold air intake goes to where that one is, then bends down and goes down about another 7inches or so.

oh so its supposed to be facing downward?..and i jus read the manual it says that its supposed t have one more 22 degree pipe on there to be a CAI otherwise its a SRI....and im like wow...one pipe makes a difference....but yea would i have to drill a hole or somethin?...or jus face it down after i get the pipe?

WHOA WHOA WHOA...LOOK IMM AHAVE TO TALK TO YOU....IM ABOUT TO GO BUY THE OTHER PART OF THE PIPE NEEDED TO MAKE IT A CAI...CAN U TELL ME EXACTLY HOW TO MAKE IT GO DOWNWARD LIKE THAT BECAUSE I HAVE LIKE NO ROOM RIGHT THERE FROM WHER MY FILTER WAS SITTING ON.....DID U HAVE TO TAKE OUT SOME PARTS OR SOMETHIN?..LEMME KNO THE STEP BY STEP BECAUSE MIND U IM DOIN THIS MYSELF..

well you have to take the bumper off, and then remove the big black box whatever you want to call it that doesnt really do anything. then you should be fine.

AWW DAMN HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE BUMPER??...SCREWS OR BOLTS?? OR DO I NEED SOME SORT OF MACHINE OR SOMETHIN??
