Default Cat or No Cat that is the question

So eventually (hopefully next month...) I want to put on a set of DC Headers and a cat back exhaust.... However, I was wondering what peoples opinions are on wether or not to keep my Catalitic Converter in. I'm thinking remove it and fab a piece to connect the headers to the cat back exhaust... any opinions or suggestions?

Well, the noise level from the car will be a bit louder, so depending on what exhaust you buy, think about putting the silencer in if it's not already. Also your state has its E-Check and without the cat, your car will not pass. So if you have to take that anytime soon I would say no. It's not really going to make that much of a difference and might end up just giving you a headache.

Montana has no E-Check so that's not an issue... I was wondering if the gains coupled with a Header and cat-back exhaust were worth removing it....

you could also buy a high flo cat.
there are some made that will even pass some state inspections, and if they just look under the car it looks like you have one.

does anyone know what advantage I would have to getting a high flow cat vs. no cat at all?

advantages with a cat, less tickets get a good highflow cat thats all you really need to do.... but without a cat you get a little bit of a of increase from the crank to wheel hp but not enough to justify the potential tickets and the fact that you can smell that you dont have a cat on

Ever heard of a check engine light due to there being an 02 sensor after the cat? My camry didn't have a cat,it does put off a strong exhaust sound
