uuuuhhhh ..... you're also not using non-CARB exempt parts. The C actually stands for California! States don't use other states' laws. If it were made a national requirement, it would come from DEP or EPA.

When i brought my last car to the emissions place they just stuck a thingy in the exhaust and checked something else on the computer. It has been a while so i forget all the details. It doesnt sound and seem like it comes close to how strick cali is. Are the emissions laws enforced all over the state or can a county change that. Cook county which chicago is in has a bunch of outrageous laws and taxes that dont come close to any other county around. Like cigs for examplein cook county are 7 bucks and dupage a county next door charges 350. So i bet cook county has some b.s. law about emissions but im probably wrong. But by what you guys are saying i think ill go witha ss header. I wont have to worry too much about the header giving off too much heat since i dont push my car too hard and i dont drive that much. I wont care about the discolorization as long as it performs good. i am also thinking what nate said about the water and making it crack. I drive in the rain and if the header is pretty hot i wont want it to crack and waste money and have to spend more money to get another one. Wheelbroker, i brought this subject up a while ago and didnt get many responses so i didnt need to have a poll but now that i brought it back and there a ton of resposes now it does sound like a good idea to have a poll. CARB laws are enforced throughout California and a county cannot modify the restrictions at all.

Also, I've had my ceramic headers for a year not, I haven't noticed any discoloring at all. It still looks new as when it was installed.

 

I prefer SS because of the cracking potential of the ceramic ones.

AO: What rules are you talking about? Your Fujita is the only thing that could be an issue, but that one is CARB exempt, so I'm not following you.
