Default Custom Exhaust

I found a shop that does good work on custom exhausts. I wanna go get one on my car, but I need to know some things first. What is all I need to know to make sure my exhaust sounds deep and mellow. I dont want it to sound horribly ricer-like. I also dont want it to be horribly loud either. I have an Injen CAI coming in the mail if that helps at all. My car information is in my sig. I hope all my picky needs are possible lol

With the 4 cyl, it is difficult to find an exhaust that isn't loud and ricey sounding!!! I have heard that magnaflow doesn't let of the "ricey" sound that you don't want but it is deep and mellow at idle. As for driving, idk how it would sound. I have 2 flowmaster 40's on my v6 sedan and it sounds awesome and deep during driving and idle. Also, it's not loud either!!! Hope this helps you and good luck with the ehaust.

What about a custom cat-back exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series muffler? If I wanted a custom cat-back, do I need to specify the size I want? Do different sizes change sound?

different sizes change the sound a lil bit. I have 2.5 inch inlet and outlet with a three inch tip. I didn't go catback, i just had my local exhaust shop weld the mufflers to the stock pipes with the intentions of getting larger pipes. for the 4cyl, I would get 3 inch pipes. they will give your car a nice rumble. there is cab noise from the flowmasters though. its more of a hum when idling. When driving, after about 3k it gets quiet, atleast it does on my v6.

flowmaster doesn't make a catback system for honda. go to autoanything.com and buy the muffler, then go to your exhaust shop and have them do the piping.

Im worried that since mine is a 4-banger, 3 inch pipes will sound bad. But will the muffler help the sound then? Mac your really helpful, is there a way I can reach you for quicker contact?

you can email me @ M.J_autodetailing@yahoo.com.....

If you think the 3" is pointless go with 2.5". I have 2.5" on my v6 and it sounds great. I have a buddy who has 3" pipes on his mazdaspeed3 and it sounds beastly. Actually now that I said that, I think his compression is more than the honda 4cyl. For your car, I wouldn't go less than 2" to be honest. That's the size piping I plan to put on my wife's 2002 4cyl. If you are worried about the sound, go to youtube and type in Honda Accord 4cyl exhaust. I know the sound will be different in person than on the computer, but it will give you an idea of the sound. Email me if you are wanting to know more. Put in the subject Honda Accord Exhaust.

2.25" seems to be the most common on the 4 cyl's
