exhaust for 01 accord?
i have a 2001 Honda Accord EX 2dr/4cylinder and i was wondering what type of exhaust system i should go with if i want a nice lower/quiet sound and a good chrome look over somthing that sounds too high-pitched or "buzzy". Also, any recomendations on a type of header that would go good with an exhaust like that. Any ideas will help. thanks
Well, I have a 4dr 01 and I've got my Apexi WS II in the mail. It's very quiet for an aftermarket exhaust and the performance looks pretty good. I'm planning on adding a DC Sport SS header (if I don't go turbo). Are you looking on spending a certain amount or is money not a big issue? If you have the cash, comptech is the way to go for your header. They make quality stuff. Let me know and I'll try to help you further.
thanks tom, I checked out the Apexi WSII exhaust and it sounds like its what im looking for..."This system is ideal for the daily driver car of an enthusiast, or for vehicles that want the high class sporty look without the noise." The only thing that concerns me is the fitment. I kinda want a big can under there so i can tilt it out alil bit. But if you could get back to me when you get that muff on, that would be great. thanks
Well, I'm putting it on Friday afternoon (hopefully, weather permitting) and I can take another picture of it for you when it's on. Here are a couple with it sitting in my dorm:

I hope that helps. I'll post the others asap.

Here are a few pictures I got from my camera phone of the exhaust installed:

Installation was easy. The hardest part was getting the stock exhaust off because the bolts were so rusted and tight (55k miles). I would highly recommend some liquid wrench (or something equivalent) and a friend to help you out. For the bolts on the cat, we had to rig it up so that the socket wrench was attached to another wrench for more torque, and then I had to use my foot to put enough pressure on it. Once you get the stock exhaust in the trash, the install is simple. They give you a picture with indicators of where everything should go. It's pretty much fool proof.
The sound is great for me as well. It is really low and alot quieter than the common cat back. I haven't gotten to slamming the pedal down with it just yet, but I'll let you know how that goes too. Perhaps I can steal a friends video camera tonight.

Let me clean up my exaust and ill drop a few pictures, i love the sound of my exaust. Down side, its louder then most but it has a deeper sound at the low end. Wish i had a way to record it, but I dont think a minidisc and a pc mic will have the same recorded sound. And with it being cold out it doesnt sound as deep either. I need to take pictures of my car anyways.
Well thanks guys...but that i wont be seeing any exhaust for awhile yet. I just cracked my bumper for the second time in 06 already. First time came from a run in with a deer which ran me about 700 for a bumper and some fender work. Then i got my 7500mile checkup and needed a new sealant on my oil pan and got charged another 150 for an oil change, sealent, checkup, etc... Then we got some snow and i dropped my front wheels off a snowpacked ledge and busted up my front pretty bad. Probly lookin at another new bumper!!! I want to go w/ a kit but i think ill just keep bustin that S%i! up.
