Default exhaust question

ok i just got a 89 lx and i was wondering if there was a brand of muffler out there that made a bit more noise than a factory one but not loud like i hear from honda's all the time. i want something just loud enough that i can hear it if i am listening to the radio.

good luck its hit or miss man especially with that old car almost every muff sounds like a big fart on that car. the bigger the canister, the better the sound. so like the apex has a small canister and yields a very raspy sound, the greddy has a bigger canister and has a deeper better sound. also a resonator will give it a quieter, deeper sound also. good luck on that out of all the mods i would like to do to my car a big muffler isnt anywhere on that list.

Well I have another rear section with stock pipe connected to a free flow muffler I bought it at Kragen Auto Parts, It was only forty bucks for it, It just gave good sound but no power, maybe 1 hp but it isnt noticeable, only the sound.
Kragen Auto Parts ALWAYS has high performance parts, Auto Zone SUCKS!!![>:]

i dont care if it gains or loses power...i am not "modding" this car at all. i would like to hear the exhaust so i dont have to eye my tach all the time and i might put an intake on it just to see if i can squeeze any more gas mileage out of this thing. i have a car for racing i dont need to try to make this honda into somthing its not. maybe i will just cut some of the baffles out of a stock muffler and see what that does.
