Default Headers or Catback?

My budget is $200... what would be most effective without scaring anyone I drive by... keep in mind, hearing my radio is essential... and not drawing huge amounts of attention is another thing to remember... if it is headers I'm obviously going with obx, but if its catback, whats decent and quiet under $200? Or can you not find a good catback for that price?

i dont think you can get a catback for under 200
i went to a muffler shop and they would custom make one for my car and the guy estimated it at 300+
and its a really cheap catback too, no stainless steel and a universal muffler...

^ Correct.

My friend has his catback custom done (SS mandrel bend from the convertor all the way back) for his 7th gen sedan...basically what I have in blue ( i have a silver accord). All together, the piping, labor, and resonator were $385 with 5-year warranty, and the muffler was $191. You can get a cheaper priced apexi ws2 muffler off cardomain or some other site for around 175.

Regardless....$385 + 191 = $576 or 560....but you are warranted for 5 years.

i rather get a catback that's already made and tested from greddy or magnaflow instead of going to those cheap shops, because they are basically using cheap pipes for your car, and some shops dont even know what they're doing

the guy told me that 2.5 was too restrictive and he was going to put 3 inch piping on my car, wtf?

Yeah no need for three inch unless you are pushing monster power. Even I'm running with 2.5

Ummmm.....are you serious? I don't know what kind of "cheap shops" you go to then. My friend literally stayed the entire time and watched them do it (from a distance of course) and watched them take new SS pipe and mandrel bend it. Pretty cool if you ask me. But of course, you can go for the name brand and get ripped off...it's all the same thing. (See Intake Discussion for proof of this). Unless you have a turbo, you don't touch the 3" piping or even 2.75" piping. NA usually gets the 2.25" piping treatment. The "mechanic" you spoke to is a total idiot. You'll loose so much backpressure you will be wasting your time and money.

OBX cat backs are about the cheapest....I would trust OBX no questions asked. But...in my opinion I would wait until you have both headers and exhasut to feel the big power difference. If not, id get the headers first.

True that. If just 2.25" piping was well over $300, think of how expensive 3" would be. He just wants your money/wallet.
