Default horsepower gains: SRI vs CAI

i read the sticky on CAI vs SRI, and i was wondering...

which increases horsepower more? a SRI or CAI.

i think (based on my slowly expanding car knowledge) that a SRI has a better throttle response, but compared to a CAI, a CAI pulls more power at higher RPMs.

so i interpret that as being, if you use a SRI, youll have a noticable accel difference, but not so much difference at higher RPM, and if you use a CAI, your accel wont be as different, but youll pull more horsepower if you floor it.

if im wrong correct me.

but im wondering which would help you gain more horsepower in general

Its an age old question, and quite frankly varies. Type of Car,motor, auto or manual, all have to play a role.

If you want an answer, and it stir some controversy, but im a firm believer that a CAI, should be only used for FI setup.

Yeah its the filter that makes a difference. Your basically paying $150 more for the same pipe with a logo on it.
