how much gain with a header?

RE: how much gain with a header?
Not much if it's a four cylinder and that's all you have. I say maybe 3-4 HP running at 4-5k RPM. Combine with intake to gain 5-7 HP. Combine intake, headers, and exhaust to net 10-12 HP.

^^^ at 5000-7000 rpm ..... expect low end power losses below 3000 rpm. It will make the car less quick when driving in residential areas.
....... and search for your answers first please. This has been covered ..... a few hundred times.

in first gear i get a lot of torque then as i shift into second/third the power drops a little when below 3000rpm and then picks up as it goes up and past toward 4000 and on. if youre just going headers i would say not or also atleast get an intake too. heck youll see a little power and better gasmileage with just an intake

Most header(s) are 4-2-1.
You will notice a slight power increase starting about 4K rpm's. Specifically with Manual trannys.
I doubt you will be better gas mileage With a header, exhaust or Intake.
If anything you will slightly decrease your MPG's
