Default Intake on 2003 accord EX 2.4L v4 help

This is going to be my first mod to any car ever. I figured I would start with an intake because it seems easy enought. I'm getting a cold air intake from injen with the down pipe and everything. I know I'm going to have to take the air box as well as the resonator out. My only worry is that the engine has 97,000 miles on it and has been stock all it's life. I just got possition of the car a year ago and mydad kept it in perstege condition. Always doing oil changes and stuff. Car has never had a problem except O2 sesors going bad which I replaced myself in no time. Will the engine be ok with the new intake? I don't wana kill the car now and I don't drive it to hard or anything... Do I need to make any modd to the ECU If I do get the intake? Just want some input please.

No the intake will not harm it will improve your engine performance. It's a good idea to reset the ecu after each mod to recalibrate the air fuel mixture.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure beginning in 2003 you can't clear the ECU by pulling the battery. Has to be cleared with a scan tool.

But all that really means is it'll learn the behavior of the new intake by itself as you drive around. Resetting might make it learn FASTER but not that big a deal.

Full exhaust couldn’t hurt...header back. But at that point I would look into getting a street tune to take advantage of all the new mods. Just a simple street tune b/c when doing a full exhaust you will run really rich an tune will lean out you’re a/f mixture and give more better performance and mpg.

i found a header that seems decent enough,
http://www.ajusa.com/details/Paceset...t+Headers&vq=&

what do you think? i remeber reading something while i was browsing the forum that a crush-bend pipeing is better vs this one which is mandrel-bent so im not sure

also i was looking at Exhaust systems but most of the ones i find online are all for the V6 engine, any ideas on websites i can look at for a full exhaust system? i wana try and keep my cat-system if thats possible

thos headers are for v6.

Mandrel bent it your better bet not crush bent. Crush bent crates more turbulence.

If you can find an exhaust you like online just go to a local exhaust shop and ask them to make you a cat back exhaust. Bring them a muffler or I'm sure they can sell you one.

alright so i got the intake and intalled it and i must say im impressed =) but the sad thing is im slowly getting a heavy foot and speding a lot on gas but its fun lol. so im still looking around for a new header for the new full exhaust system and i came across this one http://www.jdmcarboy.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=3423

i found a shop near by that can do a full cat-back system and such but would that be the right header to use? and should i get a new cat or use the one i have now stock...i dont think anything is wrong with it so would changeing it for a new one better the new exhaust system?

and sorry if the questions are noobish, im doing my own research and such and learning slowly i just want to be sure of my next move is all. and thanks for all your help =)
