K&N vs. Other Performance Filters

K&N vs. Other Performance Filters
Okay, so it is time to replace the air filter in my 1996 LX. I have nothing against a stock Fram or what not, but since they are $20 any way I went looking at the "Performance" filters.
My question is this: How do other brands, particularly Spectre, hold up next to K&N?
For that matter how does the Spectre hold up to a disposable filter. (My thinking is even if performance is the same I would come out ahead if I could just wash and reuse the filter instead of buying one every year.)
Thanks!

spectre is ok, had one once and it seemed to be doin its job. I would say if youre in the market for a good filter just go ahead and get the k&n you won't be disappointed. also might consider aem dryflow filters. I have one of those myself and it works wonders, no oil!
