OBX Header Facts
In your picture, what exactly is the O2 sensor? I have a 98 Accord EX and do you know if it's in the same place as yours? Will I have to buy another one? Is there anyway I could find out BEFORE taking apart my old exhaust manifold?
Ya, if you take off the heat shield and look at the header you'll see the o2 sensor.... the only way to possibly get it off is to torch it... if you force it you could be in up to $230... I just got a shop to install it...
Good post 19Accord97.
I have a question for you: Did you use a torque wrench and torque the bolts to "spec" every time you tightened? Or did you just get them as tight as you could?
I am considering some OBX ceramics. As some of you know I live inMississippi andin the summer it is as hot as the hinges on the gates of hell, plus the humidity is usually about 100% so we don't need steam rooms or saunas in gyms...you just go outside.
Anyway...I'm not planning on getting them too soon though since I have a new baby on the way and my wife would probably flip out. I have told her Imay be requesting some for Christmas. She is always like: "Why do you want some dumbpiece of metal that goes on your car?" Usually I try to explain the importance of more horsepower and possibly better gas mileage, then I realize my efforts are futile so I am usually just like: "Don't concern yourself withwhy I want themwoman, I just want them."

Okay so once I take off the O2 sensor (using a torch), after installing the new header, how and where do I put them back on? Do I just simply memorize where it was on my old exhaust manifold and just remember to put it in the same place? How do I know where to put the O2 sensor?
You're thinking that its more difficult then it is... the only hole in your header is for an o2 sensor and there isn't any memorizing... getting the old header off is the hard part... putting the new one on is no problem at all!

Whoops, totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. I am pretty sure OBX headers are not C.A.R.B certified. Though I have heard a few people saying that it is in the works. So if you live in Cali, it looks like you'll have to buy the DC Sports.
And Shadow do you have any pics of your Accord? Im curious to see those crazy modifications!

Don't forget to wear some kind of hand protection....heavy duty gloves...because your knuckles/backhand will get bloody. I think that only applies for the 7th gen Accord because the darned headers are on top of the engine block.[:@]
