Default Recommendation on AEM V2

Hey guys, my friend totaled his 95 Accord last night, and since I'm a good friend and own a 97 Accord, he's selling me his parts for very cheap. Anyway, he switched out my stock intake with his AEM V2, and I'll be paying him $100.00 soon. Before I make this purchase, I'm test driving the intake (so you can say), and I want to know from you guys what you can tell me about the AEM V2. This is what I know. It looks like a SRI but acts like a hybrid between the SRI and CAI. It has no need for a bypass valve according to the AEM website, and I read from these forums that it should boost gas mileage since more air is getting into the engine. My friend tells me that the V2 will give me about a 10 HP boost. I noticed a slight change in the power from the new intake, but do any of you guys know if my friend is right about the V2 boosting my HP by 10? What else can you say about it? Thanks.

I do not have an AEM V2, but I have read plenty about them. On a 4cyl engine, I seriously doubt you will get 10hp. On a 6 cyl, maybe, but on a 4cyl, more like 1-4hp. This is based on what I have read on the forum. I know a few guys on here have V2's, so maybe they can give you some input.
As far as price goes, I think only paying $100 for a V2 installed is a pretty danggood deal. Just make sure the filter is clean.

What's the best way to clean the filter, or should I trash the old one and get a new one, perhaps K&N?

AEM has that chemical wash thing...but you might as well get a new filter...preferably AEM DryFilter...for ease of cleaning.
