Default rusty bolts

99 accord lx. the nuts rotted off my cat. on the backside. apparently all i have to do is replace the hardware as the two flanges are intact. the problem is getting the old bolts out. the threads are shot. they look like studs. i've tried heating them but can't get them to move. only other option is to bring it to get them torched out. they should move because you can buy originals at hondaautomotiveparts.com which shows the parts diagram ( item 4. 19855 ) . anybody have an issue with these?Hhhhhhhondaautomotiveparts.comoHondaAutomotivePart s.comndaAutomotiveParts.com

Need to be torched, a lot of shops don't even bother trying to unbolt them, just easier to torch them and should be replaced anyways.

I've beat them out with a hammer, especially if the cat is removed from the car & I can set the flange on a bench vise.

Sometimes have to drill them.

well, i took it to a tranny shop i've been doing business with for over 20 years and said: hey pal! he put that torch to work and had them out in 3 minutes. they are studs. just went and bought new hardware and slap the pipes together. i had to get the new gasket that fits in the groove at the dealer. no local parts store had one that fit right.
