Snow on intake?

RE: Snow on intake?
Did you remove tha air ducts and what not from the inner fender when you put your sri in? I think that I would be a little concerned. Is this the first time? I would not want that snow to melt with all the under hood heat and then get sucked into the engine. Try and locate where the snow would come from and maybe put some mesh or screen to prevent anything further, at least for the winter.

RE: Snow on intake?
Nope, all I did was remove the stock intake. Of course this happens to be on the side where I got hit. But my car was fixed at a VERY reputable place (Collision Revision, and the guy who painted the side is ranked like #12 in the country for color matching) so maybe it got in that way. But there were also 40mph wind gusts the night before and last night. I dont think its happened before. I got as much out as I could and went on with it. I remember people saying thats its okay to get your cai witha little water but not totally submerged. I hope that it was okay.
Here are the affects after the blizzard, besides a really sore back. So I am just thinking the really stong winds forced it in, because there was even a small amount on the other side of the engine bay. We had HUGE snow drifts....it was bad. I know its not really relevant...but I just feel like sharing! lol
The first picture is where I park my car, in fact the snow was actually built up partially on the trunk and against the car itself (I backed in)

RE: Snow on intake?
here's the most obvioussolution toyour problem... remove SRI and put stock intake back in... don't compromise your car's engine for a cat purr and 2-5 HP gain from the SRI... just wait until summer to put it back in...

RE: Snow on intake?
Thanks for the input guys! I just am leaving it on, as I have only found snow on it one time. I might go and buy some extra weatherstripping and add it to the side of the intake.
Could water and snow be getting in from the gap between the top of the headlight and the hood? I already filled the gap of my corner light w/ some clear rtv.
