Um... no. A long SRI would be a CAI. Look at the chamber and the shape... has something to do with air pulses.

I,on the other hand,said....that you have a SRI,you are not grabbing cold air.Maybe you should post a up close pic of your intake.

I wish I was! I was commenting on the carbon fiber ones posted and blew past all the other posts...

People either sell an SRI or CAI, you made your own so its in the middle. Call it a hybrid... a mix of both. Just like TASAutos new Hybrid intake which I will be picking up soon.

well in your case, you're still pickin up the warm air from the engine bay, so you're not really getting the benefits of a cold air intake. just thought id throwin my input

The gains from an intake are so small that the little things that you guys are talking about will add up to no noticeable difference. Just my $0.02

What is a "box thingy"?

If you're referring to the TAS intake all it is a polished tube and a K&N high flow filter.
