Default SRI questions

I'm getting ready to put an sri on my 1996 Accord LX 4-door 4 cyl. I have a problem with fitting it with the battery in. So it runs right into the battery so i was going to cut it down and get two 45 degree pipes and run it right behind and then straight. Is it okay to have the filter like that? Let me know if you need anythign else the diagram is what i want to do, sorry it's so bad, i did it in paint.

As long as you can run your hand all around the filter to insure it's not being smothered by anything, it should be fine. What sort of issue are you having? Lots of persons have done an SRI on your type of Accord, maybe they can tell you how to fix your problem without having to start cutting and modifying.

What type of sri did you get? Im guessing one of those junky ones on eBay...which would explain why its so cheap. I have the AEM and it fit perfectly. Do you have a picture of it in? That would help greatly. Someone else on here had an sri problem w/ a cheapo off eBay and it really looked like an intake for an earlier Accord.

I got it from autozone, it's a spectre or something like that, i put it on and eventually i will make it cold air but i need to find a 60 degree bend to hook the pipes up. The sri i have now is like a half j, it's a straight pipe then curves of at about 60 degrees and hooks onto the intake manifold. I switched my battery aroudn and have it running perpendicular to the car, or the same way as the engine is horizontally. Is this ok???

AS for the Battery being mounted horizontally, if the cables can reach and they aren't rubbing any metal to short out anywhere then you will be fine......Oh yeah, I gotta say, your diagrams are way better drawn out than I could ever do!

It might look kinda ghetto, but you could try to loop two 14" black zip ties around the battery and run them under the tray that the battery sits on... By two, I mean like connect them to each other to make them twice as long.

That'll keep the battery from sliding around? I'm actually gonna end up giving this car to my dad in a few months, should i just take this intake off and put the stock one back on? I've had so much trouble with this intake so far,and i think i'm just going to put the stock one back on. Whatdo you all think about this?
