Not if the output comes from the electric portion and is limited by it's output ...... or have you studied this system and know it already? I haven't.

 

From what the manual says, it is a gas engine assisted by IMA, Integrated Motor Assist. It recharges when you decelerate (brake) and will assist at certain times, but the main power is the gas engine. The electric motor adds 10 (I think it is) h.p. to the gas engine. It has auto stop which stops the engine at a low m.p.h. and complete stops. It instantly starts and takes off when you let off the brake to accelerate. Pretty neat! It took me a while to get used to the feeling of the motor "dying" when I stop.
