im looking to add a cai for my 03 accord ex v6 sedan. i was thinking of getting the aem v2 with the Air Bypass Valve. it says that it will virtually illiminate the chance of hydrolock. i live in hawaii and it rains alot here. what do u guys think i should do?. get this one or go with the sri?. i will also be lowering my car

Actually I dont think you can use a bypass valve with the V2. I may be wrong, but I thought that was the deal. Whatever intake you get, definitely get a bypass valve, unless you decide to go with the SRI. With any full length CAI, you should use a bypass valve. Its only $45 or something, a lot cheaper than a hydrolocked engine will cost you.

I'll back this one up from personal experience.... I actually called AEM for the very same question... the v2 is tuned specifically for it's size/length and introducing a bypass valve into it will screw it up, if you get the origonal AEM CAI you can use one.... But not the V2... I packed slush in/around my filter (no fenderwell skirt) and that hydrolocked my engine with a V2... long story short, SRI is the safest but 1 or 2 horsepower less gain, if you want optimal gain/safety then go with the CAI and bypass valve

If you go with a regular AEM cold air intake, you will still make great gains, as they make one of the very best CAIs on the market today, in my opinion. Just gotta get that bypass valve lol.

there was a video circulating for a while that showed a guy with a VERY nice NSX and he submersed the air filter in water and the car continued to run fine because of the bypass valve.... Never heard of a problem while having a bypass valve installed..
