Replacing Leaky, factory exhaust, advice.
Hello, I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX bone stock, 4 cyl, I have the Original exhaust and its in bad shape to the point where It barely passed smog(rotted areas, leaks). My question is; Is it Beneficial in Performance upgrading to a larger diameter exhaust system and muffler or should I just buy a stock cat back replacement?
If I can get some performance, while replacing the Exhaust, id like to do so, but I have no clue whats garbage, what isnt. I've wrenched on American Cars for the most part, so If theres people who have had good experience with cat back systems (preferably not obnoxious loud) it would be appreciated if you could chime in....thanks

When I had this problem w/ 94EX I used Walker Quiet flow muffler and tail pipe; replaced parts aft of catalytic converter. I was very pleased w/ sound (quiet like original). No detectable performance change.
good luck
