Default 02 Accord TCS issues

I have a honda accord v6 2002. My daughter just called me and told me that on her way back from school (highway) the TCS light came on and the engine light came on. The car is evidently jolting when accelerating. I had her talk it to a local mechanic and he simply reset the codes and the car is now driving fine.... I don't trust that as the fix. Is it possible to simple reset codes and the car will drive better?

No, not normal..he must have did something else for her..Get rid of codes is only temp and should not be done..Gives the owner a false sense of it being fixed till it breaks down again..maybe even worst than before

I agree that's not normal.
I actually don't even see how it is possible. Every time I have had a check engine light on, if I simply reset the codes, they come right back on again.

Occasionally a random electrical problem can happen that won't repeat itself. That's the time when resetting works.

Normally, the CEL comes back on, indicating that there REALLY IS a problem. Then you have to actually fix the problem THEN reset.

BETTER thing would have been to read the error code, before erasing it. Then if it comes back, you'll know if it's the same error or something different.
