my check engine light is blinking while my foot is on the brake and my car is idling hard. When I drive it, the CEL stops blinking and runs normal. I took it to a mechanic and he got a code of P1298. He says that my car needs to be reprogrammed at the dealership and he can't do it. Is this common, To need to have your car reprogrammed? I just had New spark plugs put in. I want to avoid the dealership at all cost. Please help....
