1994 Accord EXi
Hey there,
sorry if this has been answered but im just after a quick, yet simple question that i can't seem to find out. Are the 1994 EXI's VTEC? and also what is the difference between EXI and VTI?
Cheers, any help would be appreciated

I don't think Honda uses EXI & VTInames in USA, so I don't know. It would help to know where you are, maybe someone around here knows. The valve cover will say VTEC.
Anyway, welcome to the forum.

As JimBlake said, we don't have those trim options available in the US. Pop the hood. About the center on the top of the engine (the place that has 4 wires coming out of it) it should say VTEC in pretty big letters if you have a VTEC.
If it doesn't, look for a stamp on the engineto the left ofthe exhaust manifold (on the front side of the engine, about mid way down.) The stamp should say something like F22B1 or F22B2. Tell us what number is stamped there and we should be able to tell you a little more about the engine

RE: 1994 Accord EXi
MATP - I'm from Vic, Aust. EXi is the base model in Australia with 2.2 non VTEC motor, next up is the VTi which has the VTEC 2.2& lastly the top of the pops is the VTI-S - VTEC, Climate control, Dual airbags, leather, roof and full electrics. I have an EXi with stock non VTEC motor - if it's coupled with a manual it's not that bad a motor but I'd hate to drive the auto version.

RE: 1994 Accord EXi
If you find an EXi in really good shape for a good price, you can always swap out the motor for H22A (prelude motor) - I saved $2000 by buying the EXi rather than VTi, a H22 halfcut is about $2500 & about $1000 more for labour to fit. I'm only really $1500 out of pocket for a much more powerful engine. modproject.com.au do an awesome job in this dept. Check em out if you get a chance. dan
