Default 1997 Honda Accord LX 5 Speed (200,000+ miles)

I bought a Honda Accord over 6 months ago and have ran into many problems. For most of those I’ve gone to get them looked at but I haven’t found someone who can help me solve this problem... as I climb through the 5 gears going onto the highway my car hesitates and then surges with power (nothing crazy only because it’s stock) but it almost feels like tranny issues but I’m not sure, my RPM needle jumps with every surge it’s only getting worse and I wanna catch it before my car dies... please helppppp

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. There's really no "transmission" issues to compare with the surging because it's a manual trans.

Say you're driving along and you press the accelerator pedal (like climbing a hill without downshifting). The RPM would climb, just about the same way as if you were beginning to press down the clutch pedal. That's the classic description of a clutch wearing out.

I'd check the fuel pressure just to be safe. But I was thinking you might be in the wrong gear (in 5th, versus 4th).
