My first Honda. A few years ago no one would have dreamed of seeing me in one! Due to car obligations and an unexpected car fire, I needed to give my '99 Passat V6 5 speed to my son (165,000 miles) which still ran like a new car and one of the best I have ever owned. My wife suggested I buy a new car, so I started a search for one that I could enjoy driving with the reliability and performance desired. My perferences were for a sedan, V6, and a manual transmission. (although I am a senior citizen, I still perfer shifting gears!) It was only by chance, when months ago we looked at the CRV, a salesman mentioned the Accord could be equipped with this combination. The few others, most out of my budget, were the BMW's, Audis, Altimas, Infinity's, etc.

So, I started a search among all the dealers in a 50 mile radius or so with one dealer in Princeton, not having any models, giving me the names and locations of all available cars from others. Since it was late July, stocks were limited. Found two dealersin south Jersey, went to drive one and was hooked! Burns Honda in Marlton had two, one with the navigation package, car had been on lot for 93 days, and I guess I was the rare buyer who wanted this combination so we made a good deal.

Now have about 2500 miles, fun to drive, will outrun my neighbors 530i, and has all the luxery items of cars much more expensive. Love all the gadgets and still trying to figure out everything.

It appears Honda has dropped the V6 6 speed for 2008, guess there aren't enough crazy types around to support it except for the coupe. I'm surprised more enthusiasts are not aware of the performance and comfort of this car.

 

You should send that letter to Honda. Maybe sway their opinions! hah

Smag ... you're biased!!!! I want a 6 speed too!!!! My tranny is keeping me from squeezing the 400 HP that my J30 is begging to produce!!!

Welcome sschragger ...... I'm sure that you'll forget about the VW soon enough, now that you have a car that doesn't break so much! (maybe not yours, but that's VW's reputation)
