Default 2009 Coupe EX-L Impressions

Hi everyone!!!

Yep I am new and just got my first Honda ever!!!!

Nope I am not a huge fan nor going to give double helping of smack.

For me my car is new. It is a certified vehical with just over 10K on the V6.

I have yet to add any upgrades as there are very few dealer options and what not I am interested in.

Everyone sez some colors are rare or are hard to find. Well afer 3 months of Autotrader and traveling on z road while taking notice of what is driven. I have compiled some interesting data on the 2009 coupe EX-L.

No, my search was not because I could not find the car I wanted... it was to find the car at the best price with in driving range.

Rarity is relative to the location... V6 over I4 is somewhat 50/50 accross the board on the EX-L coupe models.

The highest vin sequential number I have seen is 18021 on a owned EX-L.

The highest sequential number on a car for sale is 16583.

Most 2009 cars up for sale since January are early production trade ins, repos, and returned leased vehicals that were sold in 2008.

Being that we are talking a 4 month production and sale for 2008 and a 6 month production with a 10 month sale for 2009 (best approx).

Now for V6 Manual vs V6 Auto... it is ruffly a 10:1 ratio so out of every 100 automatics there should be about 10 6spds. But again some locations more people seem to enjoy the spirited V6 with manual tranny.

Ok now for my best guestamates... as economy has suffered, production could have faded during the last 4 production months.

Total 2009 Coupe EX-L production (I4 & V6): High values - 35,000 give or take 4,000. Low values - 24,000 give or take 4,000

I4 production: High values -19,000 give or take 2,000. Low values - 14,000 give or take 2,000

V6 production: High values - 16,000 give or take 2,000. Low values 12,000 give or take 2,000

Colors:

Silver & Black: Most easily found
White & Metal: Mid way
Blue & Red: Just below

Also there was some post long ago about that only 1900 V6 6spd accords will be produced.

There was no information stating coupe or sedan.

Ok this was my fist post... kinda lame but so far I am the only one posting such information or insight about production numbers that can be kinda sorta useful for the 2009 coupe.

Welcome newbie!

That's a lot of homework during car-shopping. You said you're not a huge fan? Then why did you choose Honda? ... just casually wondering, not trying to say right or wrong.

Sorry if I made it sound like I disliked Honda... Just dint want anyone to think I am all wrapped up in the hype or something.

We owned a Toyota Solara and liked the styling and fuel economy with the V6. It had been a very dependable car and well built to boot!

The 8th Gen Accord Coupe before 2011 meets our needs and is very similar to the 10 year old Solara.

Yes, I did shop around and found a Honda body style I can live with, and a build quality to match Toyota.

One thing that impresses me is that the VCM V6... after 10k has been put on it, the performance is like the Manual V6 just the 1st and 2nd gearing lacks the lower gears of the Manual.

Cruising at 65 and romping on it in D3 keeps up pretty darned good!

The only thing about the Honda is why did they not install the performance suspension as standard with all EX-L coupes???

The Solara had it standard and has a noticable hight difference.

Well I guess that be the only complaint about the EX-L I have, and it is not that important or should I say "It dint keep me away from buying the car".
