Just picked it up with factory remote start. Not getting a good explanation on why if you have the transponder and the car has been running through the remote start. When you open the door the engine shuts off and you have to restart. Couldn't get an answer through Honda Corporate. Any one have any thoughts, appreciate it.

There is a thread or two floating around about the remote start for the 2013. A quick search and I'm sure you will find it/them.

 

Thanks. It's actually right in the remote manual. "opening the door will shut the engine". Makes no sense.

Yes, that doesn't make sense..Now what.?

 

I'm guessing Honda will get it together and issue a tech bulletin with a fix. Or some after market programmer will come up with a paid solution. Just have to wait and see

 

Did you check the TSB's and Recall button up towards the right hand top of this page for that..?

 

Unfortunately that is the way Honda has set it up on all remote starters. They have done it I assume for safety reasons. My 12 Accord is the same as well as Crv

 

I would think it's so if someone sees your car running in the parking lot they can't just hop in and drive away with it.
