93 LX 2.2 noob distributor question.
Howdy Honda Forum!
I'm doing a tuneup and quite a lot more. My last step (and the easiest) is the cap and rotor. Videos I've seen show the rotor having a set screw in the side of the shaft for removal. The rotor currently on the car, and the rotor I have to replace it, do not have a set screw.
So what is the best procedure for removing this thing? I have always been taught to finess instead of use force wherever possible. But I'm not seeing a way to remove the old rotor without a little muscle. So should I lever it off, or just pull on the sucker super hard or is there a trick?

In the past 20K miles:
new rotors, bearings, tie rod ends, waterpump, timing and balancer shaft belts, accessory belts, 3 hoses, upper and lower valve cover gaskets, oil pressure sender, pcv valve, exhaust mid pipe, and added a trailer hitch.
Still to go:
power steering rack, pump, and hoses. (I'd prefer a manual rack)
Climate control fan switch,
door window regulator
paint job
Transmission oil cooler
Aux battery kit and 160 Amp alternator.
Front tow clips
roof rack

They can be very tight and hard to remove. Weakest link is the rotor itself so some force is possible w/o risk. You may be able to pry against the side of the distributor lower housing.
Warming cap w/ a hair dryer or heat gun may allow easier release as plastic expands more than metal.
