I have a 2016 Accord Touring Hybrid, which I am very happy with, But, the time has come to consider a trade-in for a new model.
We live in a mountainous area, and I am pleased by how well the hybrid handles these hills and valleys, benefiting from the regenerative braking downhill to boost up the next hill. However, the tiny battery saturates to full charge when I'm only 1/2 way down the hill. It would be greatly beneficial if the battery were at least twice the capacity. Is there any option on new models to add extra battery capacity?

I'm aware of a Clarity pluggable model that had much greater capacity, but I'm saddened that this model was discontinued. I don't necessarily need a 42-mile range on battery, but it would be great to have battery capacity to drive up to 5 miles, rather then the existing capacity where I'm lucky to get 2 miles on battery.
