Ooooooh, I see, if I can’t find a CL Type S to part from, my only other option would be to downsize the engine to the 2.4L with trans, correct? Those 2.4L manual are easier to find. That’s if I’m set on switching to a manual. The only thing is that from what I’ve heard is that by increasing the HP on the V6 (I’m tuning it to get to around 250HP from the stock 200HP) may have to get a new transmission to match it, is that a incorrect assumption?

like I said I’m new to the modding scene, and I’m getting all kinds of input and don’t know exactly what to listen to.

You keep missing the point, there are virtually zero compatible parts in the engine bay between the 4-cylinder models and the V6 models swapping engines and transmissions between the two is difficult, expensive, and challenging. Literally your only option to keep your car and engine and put a manual transmission in place of the automatic will be to find an Acura CL and perform a swap.

Yup, kind of like the guy with an 01 Accord 4 cylinder, that wanted to swap to a 5 speed MT. I recommended that he look on Craig's list for a donor car to get the parts from. It's all the little parts that add up that you don't think about. My son is working on gathering the parts to do an engine and trans swap in his 98 Civic. He already bought an Acura RSX for the engine and trans, along with the engine and trans wiring harnesses and ECU to run it plus the shifter and cables, along with getting better brakes for the car as well. By buying it off Craig's list like he did, he figures he's got about 2-3K in parts that he'd have to buy separately that he paid 1100 for, plus he got to drive it to make sure everything was kosher (no knocks in the engine, and all gears work fine with no grinding or jumping out of). A good donor car, that the PO was still daily driving.

shipo, I see. Yeah, I looked at the link and it’s a good thing I’m not far from Savannah (3-4 hours out). I may keep an eye on that until I can buy out the whole car and pay to have it towed up and dropped at my buddies who’s been modding Honda’s since the early 80s because he can do the swap and see everything that needs to be swapped. but definitely thanks for the link.

Update I was able to find a few (manual TL 3.2L V6) for sale off of FB that are non-modded, ranging from 3-6k in total, which isn’t bad considering buying just the engine and trans would be 1500-1600. So I may keep an eye on them.

Also, input for new intake, cold air or ram air???

Your car came from the factory with a cold air intake so it is already about as good as it's going to get. Aftermarket intakes might reduce restriction a tad up near redline but generally reduce beneficial resonance in the mid-range causing a commensurate reduction in mid-range torque; that and the filters typically affixed to after market intakes don't filter for crap.

Oh okay, yeah, I can see that because it’s located by the fender and is away from the engine already.

back to engine and trans swap. I’m looking at other JDM cars and curious if a 350z engine and trans have the same layout and compatibility?? If so, that would a better option over the Honda/Acura SOHC V6, considering it’s a 3.5L DOHC V6.

Not even close. That and swapping between manufacturers makes things even more difficult. Your only real option is a transplant from an Acura CL 6MT. That's pretty much it.

Gotcha, that’s what I figured with switching manufacturers but I wanted to double check
