Default F22B1 Potential

So I have my first car- a dark green 97 Accord Ex, 2.2L, 5 Speed, F22B1.
I've always loved Hondas and I know my car has potential. I've been slowly working on my car. Trying to make it quick, fuel efficient, but a sleeper. Nothing too fancy, but I like taking old stuff and making it work like new. All I have done so far is a 421 performance header (wrapped) to a front pipe, then stock cat but a 3" SS catback exhaust. I also threw in a CAI I made with a K&N filter on the end. So I've done the basics and the car sounds good and performs great. I just threw rims on but took them off (I have a post on that under the Tires section). I recently did a tune up and use synthetic oil. I've had to do some other repairs, replaced the clutch, bearings, rotors, odds and ends.
Now I'm messing around with this HHO stuff to see what it actually does, but I think for now I'm gonna focus on aesthetics. New head and tail lights, rims and get the scratches out of the body.
Any advice on some performance mods? The engine has 184k on it so I don't want to do much, but the body is in great condition- almost completely rust free (Im in NYS). So I'm not sure if I wanna continue messing around with this car as a project or stop where I am and then save money towards a newer Accord. I've noticed the newer they are the harder they are to mod.
Any ideas?

An upgraded camshaft and an intake manifold is about all thats left to do without doing something drastic like building the engine, turbo, or nitrous.

Default Camshaft

Upgraded camshaft sounds like a project I can do. But it also sounds like something thats easy to mess up. What do you recommend? And how would this effect my car?
Part of the reason I love VTEC is the balance between fuel economy and power. I wanna keep or improve my MPGs while increasing the horsepower.

A camshaft definitely wont increase your mpg. But if you want to look into it more check out bisimoto.com

So what would a better camshaft do for my engine?

Increase horsepower would be why I would consider putting one in .
I would post more questions in the engine forum instead of this new member forum..
