First Time Honda Owner
Hi,
I was looking for a reliable used car with a decent price (cheap for some...reasonable for others), but I never even considered a Honda. I went to a Honda dealer to look at another car that had with very low miles for its age, but it was not worth it. The salesman convinced me to drive a 1998 Accord LX (4 door) with 137,000 miles on it (in my opinion, that is WAY too many miles). However, I really liked the car...I mean really! So, the next day, I went to several other dealers, drove several other cars...newer and less miles, but kept thinking about the Accord.
So...today, I bought the 1998 Accord with 137,000 miles, I am completely freaked about the age and the mileage....but I am really enjoying the car!! It handles very nicely, the leather seats are very comfortable and it rides better than any of the other newer cars I drove.
I would love some advice on how to care for this vehicle from others. I read a lot of reviews and there are people on both sides of the fence, but it seems that the people that love and take care of their Honda Accord's get them well above the mileage I have on the car. I don't drive very much, but it is all street driving. If I drive a lot, I may put 10,000 miles on this car in a year.
Please share your advice and stories....I think (and hope) this will make a Honda lover out of me!

i think most people would say thats not a lot of miles considering its a honda. ive seen honda's with over 400,000 km or for you over 248,000 miles
honda has a good name in reliability of parts and high mileage. every car company has their outliers but you should be happy with your car for a good while. the average person puts 25,000km or 15,500 miles on each year so your buggy is under used. just do standard maintenance, even bare minimum, when it should be done and it will last a long time.
