I get my new ride this Saturday (18 Feb 12). A new 2012 Accord EX-L 2.4L

I narrowed the field to either a Honda Accord EX-L or a Jetta TDI Premium+Nav. Both cars have their merits but after driving them both for the second time (within an hour of each other), I felt the Honda was a much more solid car with no squeaks or vibrations. The handling of the Honda in corners was superior to the Jetta. The Jetta did have push button start/stop, nav, fog lights, and tiptronic transmission but it just did not feel as solid and I would likely never use the tiptronic shift option anyhow. The Jetta gets outstanding fuel mileage, but German cars are very expensive to maintain and the resale value of a Honda is excellent. The Honda sound system I felt was superior to the Jetta's.

So.......I chose the Accord. I've never owned a Honda and I hope it's as good as everyone raves about. I'll soon know.

Talking Hello New Member

I'm sure that the majority of us in here would agree on your choice, so enuff said there..I've driven the new passat and I like the feel of that car also.

I think you'll be happy with your choice.

Yes, you are right. Japanese technologies are superior than German.
