Default Greetings!

Greetings All! Glad to be a new member of the forum. I'm driving the same Classic 1982 Hatchback LX my parents bought in the summer of '82. Learned to drive in this car; I just can't let her go. She's at 230,400. No mods, just old school goodness. Well, I guess the stereo isn't original. I got one of those AudioVox things where the entire unit slides out! That handy little input for the portable cd player now supports the iPod.

Nice! That's old school right there! That thing looks like it has been immaculately maintained! Is that a 4 speed manual trans?

It's the old 5 speed manual -- very smooth to drive. Far better, in my opinion, than our '94 Integra. Something about the size of the Accord, I guess, makes you feel much more connected to the road.

Yeah I'm going to carry on the tradition handed down by my Father before me and keep this car well maintained. My Father-in-law, however, is giving me tons of grief about keeping it. I can't convey to him that sometimes decisions aren't made entirely based on dollar figures. He gives me all kinds of economic reasons why I should lose the '82. That, and he constantly notes the lack of features such as air bags and ABS. She does need new suspension though, and that's going to cost a ton. Oh, and AC, which also won't be cheap.
