Talking hello everyone my name is jivecd5 and im an accordiholic

hello everyone my name is jivecd5 and i have a newly found "accordiction". hence why im reporting to, and inadvertantly creating a new (to my knowlege) club of sorts, accordiholics anonymous

okay enough of the play on words...

i just recieved my 94 accord as trade for my gremlin ridden, overheating, (broken) auto tranny having 99 civic dx. good riddance.

its a 4 dr 5 spd with a healthly 205k on the dash (but the vss needs replaced so it could be more... whatever) the car it self runs surprisingly strong, and the transmission shifts like a dream with NO grinds even during a lightning fast 1-2 and 2-3 shifts at 6500rpm... i used to bang gears on the 1320 on a weekly basis at keystone raceway back in PA. i've always known hondas to grind somewhat (in my experiance) during fast, high rpm shifts. (more than likely due to previous owner's abuse which, this particular honda seems mechanically free of.)

Now, EVERY door handle on the inside of the car has been broken...(i cannot begin to guess as to why...maybe a |****** off girlfriend or a bad acid trip or somthing lol) so those will need replaced. the door panels will need replacing due to full blown HOLES through the areas near the arm rest. (im spying on a set of Si-R panels currently ) I will need a new "shift boot bezel" peice or whatever its called. and i'd love to find out how to bolt down the rear section of the center console. (how does it anchor down? when i got it that part was just kind of chillin between the seats) a pass side tail light but will probably just get a new pair of stockers or similar, as well as new, black housing, depo headlights and corners to spruce up the lighting. i need to find a replacement for the drivers side air vents as well. and it keeps blowing the "small light" fuse. im currently looking for the root cause. maybe the water resting in the tail light is whats causing the short (sound like that might be it? anyone?)

the ac works though surprisingly, the cloth seats are mint, the sheet metal is pretty straight. enough so that it can forego any major body work except near the antenna where a tiny, isolated rust hole is. so i'll fix that one of these days. new wether stripping around the reat window would be good too, but not immediately necessary.

i'll post pictures up soon. maybe later today, or tomorrow.

even with all the little things that are wrong with the car, i've fallen in love with the cd5 chassis. the way the headlights flow into the fenders, and that body line along the same route of the door handles that bubbles outward and follows all the way to the rear of the car, the subtle size of the tail lights and the clear strip that splits them in half horizontally. the window size is in perfect ratio to the sleek lines of the car result in a vehicle that is perfectly proportioned (unlike many cars) the only thing that kinda screws it up is how high the car sits at its stock stance, coupled with an under sized wheel and tire combo. my short term goal is to get her in primer within the next month or two, after which i think a copulous amount of gloss royal blue with a little bit of white mixed in, 16 to 18in wheels of some sort(i want to fill the wheel well up without adding too much dead weight from oversized rims, so ima do a little research before i make a decision) 20% tint, and a "type r" front and "mugen" style lip ect... i simply want a clean sleek jdm themed look.

but im real excited about this car and the build. i havent felt this inspired in a very long time. so i know its going to be something special. i cant wait to start progress with this.

this forum is pretty much going to be my new home, so i hope i dont **** any of you guys off with my landslide of questions that will surely be posted at one point or another.

thanks for reading. and i'll try and have pictures up some time later today.

and again im "jivecd5," realizing my accordiction, and reporting to "a.a." accordiholics anonymous
