Default Hey there looking for a/c guru's

2010 Accord a/c problems
Bought this four years ago every summer have to add r-134a during Texas and now Arizona summers. Wife drives everyday and to keep her off my back I did a small good faith release then threw in a small can of stop leak. Then 6oz of r-134a then the compressor was building up loudly then sounding like a overpressureizing valve blew releasing some refrigerant. But it kept doing it so I realized I must have overfilled, never happened before I have serviced my own cars for 30 years.

Default My attempted fix

I rented new a/c manifold gauges and new vac. The pressures were the same on both sides 130 psi. I evacuated the system and put it under a vacuum let it go for 45 min and turned off the vac while it stayed the same for an hour and a half. So that means no leaks. I then recharged it with 134a with about 15 oz. as directed. Comp building up perfectly but only up to 150psi on hi and 30 on low. With the temp in the triple digits I expect more like 200 and 50. It blows out nice and super cold. But the wierd thing is when off each side evens out about 94psi each side.

Default Question is what's going on?

It would seem problem is a pressure regulation valve of some sort. Would that be the evap expansion valve? Or a faulty reed valve in the compressor? I read some one had something similar with the a/c relay is that it? Or just a simple a/c pressure sw?

System should equalize when off as entire system is open w/ only restriction being the expansion valve which is partially open all the time. Pressure will be near ambient air temp in psi, but underhood heating can raise the temp/pressure.

If you put 15 oz in your charge is correct. Did you add some lubricant as you would have lost lube w/ system discharge.

Pressures should be measured at 1500-2000 rpm, max AC, max fan, doors and windows closed, in the shade. If 100F air temp, then expect high side pressures over 250 psi, and low side should reach 30 when interior cools down (vent outlet temps near 40F).

good luck

Since my high side not very high is that an indication to a problem?
