I use to drive an 89 Accord when I was in my 20s back and forth from Huntsville to Mobile, AL bi-weekly. Never needed a repair for 3 solid years. Sold to my brother and he totaled it 2 weeks later. I just got my car tonight. It's the 2nd 6th generation Accord I've owned. I sold my first Accord after 2 weeks. It had way too many issues. I purchased a 1995 Eclipse GST. Loved the car and power but it was a money pit. Had to work on it during the week just to enjoy it on the weekend. Sold it and drove a 1991 S-15 2.8L 5speed when gas prices went crazy(42mpg truck). Rather go back to a dependable Honda for my fun car. I haven't had one for a while. I had a 3.0L on my first 1998 Accord but I looked around for about 5-6 months around here and only could find a 2.3L 5 speed in great condition. I can't even tell if it's running at idle standing in front of it. Very happy for $1,400. Not sure if I want to try and turbo the 2.3L later or swap out for 3.0L. I'm clueless on The best path for my car but I know I'll keep the current engine for a while. It's very quiet, strong and sold running for now. I'll do some reading around the site before I bug ya lol. I'm sure I'll have some questions.

 

Welcome to the forum. The 2.3 with the 5 speed is a much better choice, the 3.0 automatic(and even the 2.3 automatic somewhat) were troublesome at best.

A turbo 2.3 should make all the power you need, and be cheaper to replace something if it breaks.
