Default Hi - Newbie

Hi,

I'm new here so just introducing myself. I'm Duane. I'm 25 and work in the Corporate Marketing/Communications field in the motion picture film industry. I'm a car lover.... I am an enthusiast and love learning and helping whenever I can.

My current ride is a 2004 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe. No mods except my 17inch wheels and Hankook 405 225/50/17 tires. No mods planned except maybe an ipod installation, 3M clear hood protection, and some fog lights. I think with this vehicle I'll keep it pretty stock and buy a project car to have fun with later.

Hi Gummi...
Does your position get you involved with any of the autos that they use in the motion pictures?

Hi!

Not really. I get to visit movie sets and interract mainly with producers, directors, production managers, and directors or photography. I meet some of the actors but the closest I get to the cars are probably seeing them. I'm sure that I could meet and get more into some of the car designers and tuners but it's a fine line.... people in this industry can be very 'standoffish' and you don't want to overstep your boundaries.

A project car I think is best. This is just my ride that I RELY on so I'm not going to do too much work other than fog lights, a front end 3M tint mask... nothing too too much. I was actually thinking about finding a '76 Honda Civic and restoring it really nice. Maybe putting a newer fuel injected engine if I could into it...it'd take work with the motor mounts and...well it'd be a lot of modification but it would be cool to have a really nice old civic on the road.

Closest I can recall that I've gotten was that I saw all of the cars from Fast and Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious (Clipse, Charger, Supra, RX7, Skyline...) at Universal Studios. It was cool to see them, though. I can post pics if anyone wants to see.
