Default Newbie, with typical newbie question

new here, 16 year old car lover. Just picked up a 2003 Honda Accord I-4 EX-L with 152kms for $9500 CAD. loving every moment of it so far. I just have a quick question: how often are the timing belts and water pumps supposed to be changed?

Your K-series has a chain. Water pump, not so sure.

I believe that Honda recommends changing it at 90k. That being said I feel safer changing it around 75-80k or 6 years which ever comes first. I would also suggest that you change the water pump at the same time since it is easily removed once the belt os off.

2003 4-cyl has a timing chain, not a belt. Not replaced on any schedule of milage. Theres a spec on the position of the chain tensioner, but I dont remember the details right now.

The K-serieswaterpump can be replaced easily, since its driven by the external serpentine belt. Its located on the front of the block, it even looks fairly easy to remove.
