Does anyone know of any class action lawsuits against Honda for the clear coat paint jobs and how the paint is wearing down causing discoloring and shading? I have a 2001 Honda Accord and it is starting on the roof around the sunroof. Thanks.

 

I'm trying to wrap my brain around the concept of a lawsuit against a vehicle manufacturer due to worn paint 12 years or more since said vehicle was manufactured.

What do you hope to accomplish with such a lawsuit?

 

Since they couldn't even win one against failing transmissions in the 98-02 a fading clear coat lawsuit definitely isn't going anywhere.

 

It's not worn paint, it's the clear coat. Come on Shipo, you didn't know about Honda clear coat paint issues? It's a problem and Honda issued a notice on 03-05 Odyssey's admitting the problem.

It states in part, "On certain 2003–05 Odysseys with dark blue (midnight blue pearl) paint, the paint could peel off from one or more horizontal (flat) surfaces and in recessed areas around the glass or the sliding doors..."

Honda does not state anything like most other Honda models or Odysseys colors...

 

It matters not, after 12 years any class-action lawsuits (if any for the Accord) will have been long since settled and any new lawsuits will be summarily dismissed.

 

And I believe you are all correct with your answered..case closed.
