Own a 4 Door, automatic, 2006 Accord 6cyl with leather interior. Just bought a 2nd 4 door, auto, 2007 Accord 4 cyl with cloth interior. Would have bought a newer model year and 6cyl with leather, but Honda decided to change interior design starting in 2008 and I don't think I'll ever be able to buy another one again. The center console was widened and the dash display lost its simplified layout.

Review of several other newer makes and models had the same "obstruction" lodged between two bucket seats that seem to be more narrow because of the increased width of the console. I'm a big guy, but not that big (6-2, 220) that I should feel wedged in and barely able to hook in the seat belt.

Who designs these cars anyway?

Once the newer year models were eliminated, I had to settle for a 2007 4 cyl with cloth even though leather is my major preference. I searched for 3 months for leather and could not find anything within 50 miles of Raleigh, NC that didn't have more than 40k mileage (finally found 4cyl cloth with 16k mileage and certified for $17k).

Question: Does anyone have a suggestion for covering the seats with leather slipovers without make a permanent change to the cloth covering? The dealer knew of some excellent auto upholster shops but said it would lower the value of the car for future sale or trade if change was final.

 

welcome enjoy your stay...find leather seats for your car on ebay or something like that. Then when you want to re-sell the car then swap the cloth seats back in. No harm no foul...you get what you want and you don't drop the value like the stearlership said.
