new accord ex 4 cyl or camry se 4 cyl (07)
OK guys, I am most likley going to buy an 07 Accord EX 4 cyl w/out leather. My other choice is a comparably equipped 07 Camry SE 4 cylinder, both w/5spd automatic.
The kicker is, I actually am employed my Toyota Motor Manufacturing, WV! I can get a Camry at "invoice" minus an additional 3% of MSRP. But, to be perfectly honest, I have not test drove either yet. But, I know myself, and I just like the feel of Honda's, I have owned 2 in the past. Has anybody drove the new 4 cyl Camry SE and can compare it to a 4 cyl accord? As soon as my local Toyota dealer gets in an SE, I am going to test drive both back to back. We owned a 99 Camry LE 4 cyl at one time and it was quite "floaty", but the SE's are supposed to be quite different.
From what I have read, the accord has better straight line performance, better handling, and better MPG. The only thing, I think the SE looks a little better than the accord, and the Camry 4 cyl has stability control, which statistics say dramatically lessens your chance of an accident.
Any comments will be welcome.

I researched the same two cars and came away with the Accord. Consumer Reports also gives the nod to Accord, if I'm reading the data correctly. The one area the Camry excelled was in a quiet ride. You can't go wrong with either one, but the Honda seemed to have a slightly better repair history, along with better handling. I also think the Honda will have better resale value.
I've owned three Accords in my life, the latest being an '06 4 cyl. I've already gotten over 35 mpg on the hwy. Couldn't be happier.

thanks, I can't wait to test drive them both back to back. I drove w/a friend to tennesee from ohio about 2 years ago in his 03 honda accord ex 4 cyl and it was really nice. I remember having a hard time believing I was driving a four cylinder.....so smooth and powerful. And, we drove it HARD thru the WVA mountains (75mph+ with luggage and ac on), and still got 33 mpg!
