Hey all!

I just recently bought a '95 Honda Accord LX, it definitely needs a bit of work.

What is slightly sketchy about it is that the odometer, nor the speedometer, work. It's sitting at 100660KMS but I'm going to assume it's probably closer to 200.

From doing my research it seems like the problem lies either with the VSS, or the wiring from the speedo. Right?

Any tips from people with similar issues? I've noticed this seems to be a fairly common problem with this car. The engine sounds good, and there are no weird noises coming from the tranny while changing gears (fingers crossed that it doesn't develop any in the near future). It seems like this could be a pretty decent car, given that it's taken care of.

I'd ask if the cruise works but the fact you just got the car that wouldn't be a good test.
Usually if the cruise wroks but the speedo does not...bad speedo. If the cruise works but the speedo does not.....bad VSS - but most of the time you get a CEL/D4(if auto) code for this.
