Hello all,

I just purchased a 2001 Accord with 6,500 orig miles. It was owned by a lady in her 90's. She passed on and the car was sold in the estate sale. The orig tires are on the car but very dry rotted. The interior is mint and the exterior has some misc scratches.(90 yr old driver) A good detail will remove the fine scratches. I am very happy with the purchase and already purchased 4 new tires and changed the oil. God knows how long that oil was in there. The SRS light is on. any known problems with that? Thanks for all your help..

Was $5,500 a good deal? The color is white on gray.

Auto trans? 4-cyl or V-6?
She only drove it on Sundays? Never placed higher than 2nd??

Auto trans have been problems with that generation of Accord, but I bet she didn't do too much beating on it.

If it's auto-trans, drain & fill the ATF using only Honda ATF-Z1 fluid. You'll need 3 quarts for each drain/fill. Honda autos don't like to be "power-flushed".

 

yes its an auto trans. I bet the car never went highway speeds. I will flush the trans. Thanks for the advice. Anything else?

 

Drain & fill, DON'T FLUSH. If it comes out dirty, drain & fill again after driving a couple days.
