Default New to the Forum and to Imports....

Sup everybody? Just got an 07 accord LX V6 sedan. Traded my Pontiac Grand Prix GT, and I was sad to see her go. Inormally hang out over at clubgp.com, but they don't have much info for imports, mostly just bustin my chops for trading my ride. Anyway, I made the leap to a Honda, and I am hoping all the good things I hear are going to hold true.

Welcome, and post some pics! Why did you stray from GM?

Well it's bone stock right now, so not much to look at really. i'll have some pics once I get some of the easy Mods taken care of. I strayed from GM because of the quality issues I was having. I loved my Grand Prix, and it was fun to drive, but it costs so much to keep it in good working order. Also, the GM interiors always like to rattle after about 20k, which is just plain annoying. I know serveral people with accords who would never drive anything else, so I decided to jump on the wagon.

I owned several Grand Am's back in the mid 90s. I know exactly what you mean about the rattles. I had a really poor experience with a dealer on a road trip (car broke down with 4k on it) - Backus Pontiac / Cadillac in Savannah, GA. The ensuing BS between them and Pontiac led me to sell. I bought an Accord, and when I got rid of that car with 231k on it, it was more solid than the Grand Am was with 20k on it. It was like someone dumped m&ms in the dashboard, kind of like in Tommy Boy.

I have to say, I will miss the Torque. The one thing I can say about the Pontiac was it jumped off the line. The honda is very responsive, but it doesn't quite throw you in the seat when you jump on it, at least while it is stock. Im sure once I throw a few bolt-ons into the mix, I may have better results.

I would agree, but there are the trade-offs. Buy a toy car. Then you can have the best of both worlds...
