Cool New guy from Delaware.

I got a 91 Accord that that I got in a very sad way. It was my Mother's car. She passed on 7/10 of this year from cancer. I can't say I love the car because it has 4 doors and an auto trans. I just can't bring myself to selling it. The 4 door part don't bother me to much but the auto trans does. I would like to swap it to a Manuel trans. I don't have any pics but will post them when I take some.

Talking My mom's car

Welcome to HAF. I also inherited my accord the same way you did. It is tough sometimes to drive it, and the memories, however I am learning how to deal with the loss, it has been 12 yrs since my mom died from cancer. The car is a great reminder of our loved ones. I hope you find the swap information you need, post pics when you can, we like pics.

Sorry to hear. Cancer is a horrible thing. Lost my mother and a sister in law to cancer. My wife is also a beast cancer survivor.

Been reading a little about the H22 swap.

That is a pretty clean looking 92.

Your choice on the "plans" - just a trans swap or a trans and engine swap. Me, if I was younger, I'd just do the trans and enjoy from there.

And yes, I too have a story behind one of my Accords. It will always have a home at my house. My wife was even talking about building a small shed/garage so we could keep it in there as she can't let it go either...at least not anytime soon. So I feel for both of you on your loss. I'm with "woody", the first few times I drove it - well all I can say is that sucked. Then I got used to it - never forgot just got to the point where I was proud to be in that car and thinking of the memories.

I would like it to be peppy and fun to drive but not looking for it to be a racer. I want it to look like a nice cruiser. I'm thinking a repaint, nice rims in a 16 size and maybe a mild looking body kit. I haven't really driven the car so I don't know how the power feels in it.

By the way, what's up with all the tech posts in this section ? Must be a lot of people that are new to using forums coming on here.

Thanks for the pics, looks good, sounds like you have a well thought out plan for your new ride, I would forego the body kit, but that is personal choice, swap in a 5 speed, give it a complete tune up, some modern wheels from a late model acura or such and enjoy. In answer to your ? I think folks just post where the feel like it, not looking for specific sections.

I kind of watch to see where a "new member" post goes.

Many times they end up as a "one and done" (a quick intro, a question or two and you never see them again), so that is why I don't move them right away.

Now if one starts getting into a "tech" type discussion I will move it to the proper section - usually General Tech
