Hey guys as you can without a doubt tell I am new here, and I have a few questions. I don't exactly own a Honda YET, well, I do own a Honda Rancher ATV. But at this currect moment I am looking at a 1989 Honda Accord LX sedan for about $600. I am wondering how reliable these Accords are, especially since this one has 100k miles. I was also trying to look up performance upgrades for this older year Accord, and didn't find a whole lot. But hopefully I can get this car, my truck is just murdering me on gas....

welcome

i have a 2000 with 122k on it, still cooking. honda's and accords are reliable and durable.
do your maintenance and they will not leave you on the side of the road
im on my second accord and im tuning mine now, even with 122k on the engine.

for 600 bucks you can got wrong, get your timing belt changed, get a tune up and your off.
good luck

Hello and welcome. It sounds like a good deal. the mileage sounds good for an 89. Like dinzer said if they haven't done the timing belt do that and also do the water pump.

Hi Goony! I was wondering, can you tell me a little bit about your Rancher? My husband's thinking of buying an atv. I guess I'm mainly worried about three things. First off, we've got a four year old daughter and another on the way, and I'm concerned about having an atv in a house with kids. I keep hearing from people who started atving at like five years old but then it doesn't seem like more than a few days go by that some eight or twelve year old little boy or girl doesn't get killed on their atv somewhere. Secondly, of course I'm worried about Bill's safety, though less so because I trust his judgment 100%. And third, what about the environmental effects of using an ATV? We have some neighbors who I've talked to and they are REALLY not fond of the idea, keep telling me about all of the pollution an atv can cause. So safety's my first concern when it comes to little kids, but the environment piece has me worried to.

Thanks for your opinion - and to anyone else who's willing to chime in!
