New here, 2007 Coupe
Hi, I'm back from the dark side. I had a 1991 Prelude and traded it for a 2000 Passat GLX V6. I had that thing for 3 months, and although a great car in many ways, ...well let's put it this way: $1400 for a timing belt change.
Just bought an 07 Coupe in Charcoal with the 2.4 166-hp i-vtec, and it actually feels more responsive than the 3.0 190hp V6 in the Passat. Maybe because the accord weighs about 900lbs less? Compared to the prelude, the 07 Accord seems much lighter and more cheaply made, but the engine is WAY better. If I had my way, I'd have the 91 Prelude with this engine! Still, so far I love it, the black leather seats don't seem cheap at all, but the ergonomics are a little strange. I'm tall, and if I put the seat back far enough for my legs to be comfortable, the steering wheel is a bit too far away, even fully extended. The only other gripe I have is that radio! For one thing I don't want the damn XM but I have to scroll past it to get to AM/FM etc. and it's integrated with climate control.
Any tips or advice? What's the best way to connect an ipod to this system, and/or upgrade the amp and speakers?
I noticed no timing belt--do people replace the timing chain and tensioners?
Thanks and hullo from San Diego

Well, I have no immediate plans for mods, although I would like some sort of screen or grille in the lower front to protect the radiator. It's already getting damaged from road debris/small stones. The steering wheel does telescope, but it's all the way out. ....
