Default New here, have plans for my 02v6tecEX.

Made it short in title, but I drive an 02 Accord v6 3.0L V-tec. Was bought in 02 so it has about 140k miles on it. I have some work to do body wise on the front end because of an accident, but after that im planning on looking into engine swaps and switch to a 6 speed manual. I have looked up some info about the H22A and all that jazz but i'm not sure if that can even fit into my 02? lol, so i was just curious to what some of your thoughts are and ideas so maybe they can help.

thanks,
27

I want to drive mine till it breaks. But it sounds like some of the V6's have tranny issues. I have the same car with 77,000 miles.

Welcome.

I need to do my homework on these motors and see how good they are. Mine seems to run good. not to slow, not too fast.

Welcome and thank you for joining.

Might want to do a bunch or research. Swapping from a v6 to an i4, might be a bit more involved......good luck.

I had a 98 4-cyl and the front crossframe did have the mounting points for the V-6 engine mount. So I bet swapping is still on the table. But it's NOT a small job.

I've heard about swapping engine and trans for some Acura (TL maybe?) to get a manual trans. Honda never offered manual with your car so you can't swap for a Honda. I think the 2003+ are just enough different to make it difficult.
