Hello, Im new to the forum and also to honda. I have always driven nissan but Im overseas in europe got the opportunity to buy a brand new 07 Accord. So far everything is good, Im just wondering about the VTEC. Its quiet and Im not sure at what RPM its engaging. For the first 500 miles I have to keep the mph under 70 so Im taking it slow enjoying the car.

 

Without mods, you likely won't hear the VTEC engage. Also, if you are really taking it easy, under 4000 rpms, VTEC likely is not engaging. Please add a signature with the car info and enjoy the new car. Welcome to HAF!!!

 

i would say it engages around 5000rpms. maybe around 4500 if your flooring it. *add sig*

 

doesnt the i-vtec engine engage at different points depending on current demand?

00 posted a link to a video where a light would turn on when the vtec was kicking in. It was in a 6th gen and it was kicking in sometimes below 4000 rpms.
